Ms. Wiinikka became Principal of Donald C. Urfer & Associates in 2007 and is committed to the high level of excellence instilled in the firm by its founder. She has managed and designed commercial and industrial projects, educational buildings, office buildings, and residences. Ms. Wiinikka has extensive experience in investigation and analysis of seismic conditions for conformance to local and state building requirements. Personally involved in the firm's design tasks, she takes an active role in the development of each project's overall conceptual design.

Mr. Haggblade has practiced structural engineering for over 40 years, the last 32 with Donald C. Urfer & Associates, Inc. He specializes in the structural design and analysis of educational and medical facilities and has been the primary structural engineer for dozens of public school projects including more than ten new elementary schools and numerous new school buildings. In addition, he has worked on many hospital and medical facilities with an emphasis on the support and attachments of mechanical and electrical systems. He has extensive experience in working with DSA and OSHPD.
Mr. Haggblade has also served as a part-time faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department at San Jose State University. He has taught basic structures classes and a graduate course in the design of reinforced masonry structures and seismic retrofit of existing structures.

As Founder and former President of Donald C. Urfer and Associates, Inc., Mr. Urfer oversees many of the structural and civil engineering projects that pass through our office. His nearly 50 years of experience includes work for big city firms on large scale projects including several BART stations and the Villa Marin Hospital, to lower profile but often equally challenging projects more prevalent in the Monterey Bay Area. He has managed and designed commercial and industrial projects, education buildings, medical buildings, residential developments, and office buildings. He has extensive experience in investigation and analysis of seismic conditions for conformance to local and state building requirements.
With his years of experience, Mr. Urfer possesses special capabilities in problem analysis, and he specializes in custom engineering solutions for unique architectural concepts.
Mr. Ewing has worked for our firm for almost 40 years. As our senior draftsperson, he provides our clients with working drawings of the highest quality. Mr. Ewing is proficient at computer aided drafting (CAD), and has combined his extensive hand drafting experience with AutoCAD to produced distinctive and well organized drawings for our clients.

Junior Structural Engineer
Ms. Villanueva joined our team in 2017 and works directly under the guidance of the firm's senior engineers. While completing her degree in Architectural Engineering at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, she worked in engineering offices providing structural design, site inspections, review submittals and engineering analysis. Ms. Villanueva brings excellent skills to our firm including those in AutoCAD drafting and detailing.
